Sons of the American Revolution (SAR)
THE SONS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION ENHANCED JROTC AWARD IS PRESENTED TO ONE CADET THAT EXEMPLIFIES ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AND DEMONSTRATES A HIGH LEVEL ESPRIT DE CORPS AND A COMPETITIVE SPIRIT. CANDIDATES FOR THIS AWARD ARE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT AN ESSAY DETAILING THEIR PERSONAL JROTC EXPERIENCE AND HOW THE PROGRAM HAS HELPED THEM BECOME A BETTER CITIZEN.
Sons of the American Revolution Award, is given to a meritorious cadet enrolled in Army JROTC at each school and recognizes an outstanding second-year cadet in a 3-year program or a third-year cadet in a 4-year secondary school program. This award consists of a bronze medal pendant and ribbon bar.
The recipient must:
- Exhibit a high degree of merit with respect to leadership qualities, military bearing, all-around excellence in JROTC activities, and community
- Be currently enrolled in the JROTC
- Be in the top 10% of their JROTC
- Be in the top 25% of their overall
